This product has been created out of 100% solid wood.
Base: Walnut
Available from many locations around the world, we tend to opt for the consistent quality of American Black Walnut. The timber is hard, dense, tightly grained and can be polished to a very smooth finish that is much appreciated by cabinetmakers.
Edges: Zebrano
Zebrano, a heavy and hard exotic wood prized for its decorative qualities can be found in handguns, exotic guitars, old Cadillacs and skis. Also known as zebrawood it is imported from Central Africa, (Gabon, Cameroon, and Congo) and is almost always quartersawn (cut towards the heart of the log), giving it an exciting alternating colour pattern.
Stripes: Maple and Sapele
Maple is found in parts of Asia, America and Europe. Traditionally used as a shock-resistant flooring timber, its dense and heavy nature is also prized by furniture and cabinetmakers for versatility and durability.
Sapele, sourced from West Africa, is a reddish-brown hardwood. It has a beautiful grain and finishes well. Sapele is not only used for furniture and cabinet work, but also panelling and decorative veneers.
